Illicit Fentanyl (non-prescription NOT manufactured in a legal pharmaceutical facility) abuse is on the rise on Arizona, in epidemic proportions. It is extremely dangerous and much more powerful than other drugs. Pills are being found in our communities across Arizona and there is no way to tell by looking at them what they contain. Fentanyl is being added to other street drugs to increase their potency and drive addiction. Agencies across the State are responding to unresponsive subjects, many of them teens, that have ingested a pill that was not prescribed to them. YOU can help. Talk with your friends and families about the dangers of drug use. Learn about Nalaxone/Narcan that is used to reverse an opioid overdose and where it can be obtained. Immediately call 9-1-1 if you suspect a person is overdosing. Join your local Community Coalition to help make positive changes in your community.
