Trauma Informed Care Training

The goal of Trauma Informed Care Training is to improve the quality of services for
youth who have experienced trauma by increasing the trauma-related knowledge and
skills of direct care personnel that are responsible for engaging and retaining youth in
services and providing the support and care these youth require to thrive.

Specific objectives include:

• Direct care personnel will have increase knowledge regarding trauma, chronic trauma, and complex trauma and their impact on child/adolescent growth and development
• Direct care personnel will understand adolescent high-risk behaviors in the context of trauma
• Direct care personal will understand the importance of a Trauma-Informed model cross systems of care

  • Training can be adapted to fit the audience needs, can be from 2-4 hours
  • Virtual or in-person when available
  • Have increased knowledge regarding trauma, chronic trauma, and complex trauma and their impact on child/adolescent growth and development.
  • Understand how the ARC model (Attachment, Regulation and Skill Competency) and how it can be used as a framework for youth services.
  • Develop skills to help youth learn to self regulate.
  • Direct care personnel will understand secondary trauma and recognize the importance of self-care.
