The Lighthouse, shelter for boys aged 12-17 opened in Prescott Valley in April of 2019. Until the opening of Lighthouse, there were no homeless youth shelters in the Prescott area.
The main focus of Lighthouse is to address the needs of runaway and homeless male youth and their families in Yavapai County and it’s surrounding rural communities.
The program is built on the principles of positive youth development, emphasizing the strength of each individual and family unit served.
To support Arizona Youth Partnership
The center currently has four (4) beds available for emergency shelter. Lighthouse provides a safe environment for youth to regroup and chart a new course in their life. We work with youth and their caregivers to create an individualized life plan to either reunite youth with their families or another trusted adult. Components of the plan may include personal goals, counseling, job skills, drug and alcohol education and academics.
The Lighthouse and Arizona Youth Partnership are proud to be part of The Prescott Area Tax Credit Coalition.
