Middle School (6-8th Grades)
Our philosophy for the middle school years, grades 6-8, is about taking students from where they are to their potential academically and socially. At Open Doors, students receive the individualized instruction that they would not receive in a larger school setting.
Our middle school classes work well for a variety of students, including those who seek:
- Small classes (Typically eight to 20, never more than 25)
- Instructional Aide support, for academic and behavioral needs
- Laptops for each student to use in class
- Individual accommodations
- Hands-on activities and experiments with STEM projects
- Special education services (for students who qualify)
Our school offers three playgrounds, daily recess at every grade level, students clubs, and family activities. Parents and Guardians are also welcomed to join the PTO at any time!
We utilize ATI/Galileo and Dibels to monitor progress, enabling teachers to customize instruction to meet each student’s needs, and we adhere to all state testing guidelines.
Our curriculum is aligned to Arizona State Standards using Core Knowledge Language Arts and Singapore Math, supported by Lalilo, iXL, Mindplay, and 95% Group Phonics Lesson Library.
